Recreation Specialist - Marketing and Events (Full-Time 1.0 FTE )

The Paradise Recreation and Park District (District) is seeking qualified candidates to develop venue rental packages, create marketing content to promote District parks and facilities, plan and execute events, and manage marketing and social media campaigns to increase participation in District programs and activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sponsorship Development - Develop sponsor packages and outreach materials; recruit and manage year-round sponsors to support District programs and events.
- Marketing and Communications - Create and manage digital content using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, HTML, and other tools to produce engaging promotional materials (including flyers, social media posts, activity guides, and website updates) to promote classes, camps, programs, events and facilities to attract a diverse array of participants and vendors.
- Event Planning and Execution - Collaborate with recreation teams to plan, promote, and execute community events that align with District goals with an emphasis on parks, facilities, and rental spaces; plan and execute a robust calendar of events that celebrates the variety of activities and interests in the community; refine and continuously improve an Event Planning Guide to support District events.
- Revenue Generation - Explore and implement creative strategies to support District events (including participation and vendor fees, donations, concessions, partnerships, and others).
There are exciting opportunities to help with wildfire recovery and highlight amazing new recreational opportunities and prepare for new parks. Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies utilizing social media marketing, websites, showcase events, and print media to increase awareness of programs, events, and District facilities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.02 - $34.30 per hour
Expected hours: 40 hours per week including occastional nights and weekends

- Astronomy on the Lake - Are you an astronomer or an astrophysicist? If so, we have offered an event in the past titled Astronomy on the Lake - an opportunity to kayak Paradise Lake during the twilight hours followed by a lite meal and a tour(led by you) of the night's sky, complete with super cool green laser pointer. If guiding people through the night's sky sounds appealing, please fill out this application.
