Wildland Buffer Project

The Paradise Recreation and Park District is preparing a forward-looking plan to reduce the potential risk of future wildfires to local communities within the District’s jurisdiction.

The Wildland Buffer Project would create a network of interconnected trails, parks and managed open space that would:

· Reduce the risk of wildfires to communities in Butte Creek Canyon, the Ridge and the Concow Basin.

· Provide open space for parks, hiking, biking, horseback riding and agricultural uses.

· Improve wildlife habitat and the watershed.

· Support local economic development.

Increasing Community Resilience to Wildfire (Wildfire Risk Reduction Buffers)

PRPD and the Town of Paradise are hosting an informational meeting about wildfire, risk reduction, and insurance.  This meeting will be held at the Terry Ashe Recreation Center on Friday, September 23, 2022 from 9:30 am to noon.
